Iskar Reservoir is a destination for relaxation and chilling out away from the stressful days here in the city. Also one of the best destinations close to Sofia for surfing, motor boats, water scooters and of course sunbathing.
The Reservoir is really huge and actually the biggest reservoir in Bulgaria. The sides of the lake itself is good for having a picnic, tenting and camping. If you are into water sports you can just go for boating, canoe and kayaking and even windsurfing.
Here are just few pictures what we have captured during our stay around lake area.

Today, 22nd April is the Earth Day and this year the Earth Day Campaign is going to focus on "climate literacy to empower global citizens with knowledge to inspire action for environmental protection".
Here is our list with ideas how everybody consciously could improve the environment:
1. Reduce using plastic bags or at least use recyclable ones
2. Use products packed in recycled flacons, boxes, packages - nowadays there are tones of companies that offer such kind of products out there in the market
3. Plant trees, flowers, bushes - it can be fun project for both kids, parents and grown-ups plus the end result out of this activity is more than beautiful
4. Recycle the waste (plastic bottles, used batteries, old clothes, cardboard and paper) - build a habit for your household or office to send the waste at the appropriate collectible places
5. Reuse when possible plastic bags and bottles - instead of buying again and again plastic bags when shopping you could always have with you one or two; the same goes for the plastic bottles after usage you can fill the with water, fruit juice or another favourite drink.
6. Share with your friends, colleges your knowledge and experience that improved your common environment
7. Learn more about the effects of the global waste problem by the Documentary Trashed.

Traditionally for fifth consecutive year this April starts the recycle campaign organized by Foundation Credo Bonum and Publishing company SmartBooks.
On 22nd April between 10 am and 1 pm at the Monument of the Soviet Army starts the campaign itself along with kids' workshops and travelling exhibition.
Apart from Sofia the campaign takes place also in the following Bulgarian cities:
13th May - Veliko Turnovo
20th May - Kyustendil
21th May – Blagoevgrad
27th May – Stara Zagora
28th May – Burgas
Again as the previous years the condition to participate and to receive free book is to bring a kilo of plastic waste at the meeting point of the campaign.
This year the new titles what you can get if you participate in the recycling campaign is the Bulgarian edition of "Doctor Dolittle" by Hugh Lofting and "The White Fang" by Jack London.
Let's be initiative and conscious about our sustainable environment and climate and start making positive changes towards it because even the small steps makes the difference. Learn more how you can recycle clothes and what you can receive in return.

Hello! Sorry for things been a bit slow here on the blog but have not been that slow in our studio! This New Year started full with inspiration, new design projects and a lot of work. For all these a little bit later we will reveal one by one the end results.
Now all of us are just one day away of March ready to embrace the upcoming spring though the official Spring Day is on 20th March.
This time we are happy that we worked on very special martenisa custom orders made out of white and red yarn. Some of the bracelets and the pom pom pins are also available in our Etsy shop.
What martenitsa tradition follows:
On 1st March starts the martenitsa exchange and lasts all month long
Martenitsa is a piece of handmade bracelet, pin brooch, a necklace made out of white and red wool or yarn
These traditional accessories symbolize wish for good health
You do not buy martenitsa for yourself. You make it as a gift for your friends, family, loved ones
You can also decorate home with martenitsa making a corner dedicated to martenitsa details
Once you see a stork you can remove all your martenitsa bracelets and hang them on a blossoming tree
Find out here martenitsa designs what we found last year while hunting for the best martenitsa for friends and family.
Winter is already here and the biggest proof is the first snow outside. Just two days ago Sofia was covered all around with snow. You can sense the festive spirit and the upcoming winter holidays everywhere - in the nicely decorated shops, cafes, local bakeries and bookstore.
What we really liked and we attended these snowy days is an exhibition that takes place in the Czech Institute called Handmade Dreams - Contemporary Czech Jewelry. The closing of the exhibition is on 2nd December and we strongly recommend to have a closer look at the pieces of jewelry exposed at one of the halls of the institute.
The project itself is curated by Petra Nového from the Museum of glass and Jewellery in Jablonec. In the exhibition are also featured students'works as well as works crafted and finished during the contest Master of Crystal.
Apart from the glass, Czech jewelry is an established traditional brand of relatively small country in Europe and definitely it is worthy to get closer to examine its gorgeous collections and artifacts.
One more event grabbed our attention and more precisely this is the Christmas Edition of SoBazaar is going to take place on 3rd and 4th December at the space of SOHO. Plus we cannot hide we are in love with their beautiful poster for the event. Meet all the artists and participants in advance at the Facebook event hereand of course in person right at the spot you can have the opportunity to have a chat with them and will get to know more about the creative process, the materials or to choose something special for yourself.
And the rest you know just take your time and pick up the best gifts for the loved ones.
Seems like this November the mood of Sofia is under the influence of the cinema vibes because of few massive events dedicated to the seventh art that are going to take place in different venues, cinema and exhibition halls round the city. Below are the highlights of what we picked up for everyone that appreciates and truly likes cinema.
3rd November, from 6.30 pmExhibition Hungarian movie posters from the 80's opening at the exhibition hall of the Balassi Institute in Sofia + music by DJ Altais
7th November starts the 8th International Triennial of Stage Poster in Sofia. The exhibitions could be visited until 21st November in the traditional and emblematic for the triennial exhibition halls. From 17th November till 1st December - The 30th anniversary of the International Film festival КИНОМАНИЯ.
Though we still have not picked up movies from the program of Kinomania definitely our November soundtrack is created by DENA.
The culture program is full with events like never before. What you would need is to have time and to bring with you your adventurous spirit, couple of friends and to start exploring around the city where you will find cool event locations, great people, big parties and lots of fun.
Here follows our top three events from the program around the Bulgarian capital in September.
It is a fact we have already skipped the opening of the exhibition called simply "СТЪКЛО" /GLASS/ dedicated to the glass art making but it is never too late. There are few more days what left to have a closer look at the pieces made out of glass by the students from New Bulgarian University. The venue is the Czech Center in Sofia and you can visit the exhibition until 16th September.
The next stop is the 9th International Fair of the Puppets that takes place from 16th till 22nd September. It is interesting fact that this year is also the 70th anniversary of Sofia Puppet Theater as well you will have the chance to see the performances of many street and puppet theaters from USA and Europe. The program of the fair you can find both in Bulgarian and English.
And now for something completely different. kvARTal is a festival that takes place for the very first time this year in one of the coziest and multicultural neighborhoods in Sofia-city. The full program of the events during the festival is here.
And one more thing - season soundtrack is never bad idea and for this reason here is our ultimate autumn track plus we are curious what is yours favorite piece of music inspired by the autumn.
